  • Overview

    JOB SUMMARY               

    The Systems Engineer will be accountable for ensuring the availability and functionality of the entire Office 365 environment (i.e. Azure AD, Exchange Online, SharePoint Online). The is a great opportunity to help the IT organization mature and formalize its cloud offerings and expand with additional services such as Skype, OneDrive, SSO, Power Apps and Team. The position will report to the Systems Engineering Manager and is located in Irvine, CA.

    Responsibilities

    Systems Support and Administration

    • Provide administrative and operational support in all areas needed: Azure AD/AD Connect, AD On-Prem, Exchange Online, ProofPoint, SharePoint Online, SSO
    • Level 2 and Level 3 Support for problems identified within
    • Act as an escalation for Level 1 and Level 2 Managed Services support technicians
    • Troubleshoot and resolve system issues. Identify and help implement prevention measures. Follow Severity 1/outage procedures and processes.
    • Participate in after-hours upgrades, troubleshooting, and/or on-call availability as scheduled.
    • Continuously improve and automate administrative and operational tasks by leveraging automation, scripting (PowerShell), and 3rd party tools.
    • Create and maintain documentation as it relates to server equipment, and configuration(s).
    • Follow and help maintain formal procedures and policies related to server operating patching, system security, database integrity, performance monitoring and system changes.

     

    Technology Projects

    • Evaluate current systems in area of specialty to identify areas for improvement or new direction and provide as input into future systems strategies.
    • Influence and contribute to detailed designs, functional and technical, for all projects.
    • Create, request, and present technical and licensing requirements on new project
    • Work closely with IT staff to clearly define issues and/or requirements that result in modifications to any of the systems, hardware or OS in area of specialty.
    • Provide expert advice, training and project management and technical support for various projects in area of specialty.

     

    Additional Responsibilities

    • Accountable for properly following all IT standards, processes and methodologies as applicable including but not limited to Quality Assurance (QA), Project Management Life Cycle (PMLC) and Production Change Control procedures.
    • Other responsibilities and accountabilities may be assigned based on business and organization needs.
    • Effectively transition senior level knowledge to other members of the team to help grow the organization as a whole.
    • Train and mentor other team members in team standards, processes and methodologies.

    Qualifications

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

     

    Education/Certification

    Two year college required or applicable trade school or commensurate work experience, four year college preferred.

     

    Experience

    • Experience administering and supporting Exchange Online (Office 365)
      • Mail Flow
      • Recipient Management
      • Security and Compliance (Archive, eDiscovery, Auditing, DLP)
    • Strong, hands-on experience with infrastructure and network services (8+ years)
      • DNS/DHCP experience
      • ADFS
      • PKI
      • SSO
      • TCPI/IP
    • Experience administering and maintaining the O365 Platform (4+ years)
      • Tenant Global admin experience
      • Azure-AD Connect
      • Admin/Privileged User administration
      • Security Audits
      • OneDrive, Skype, Teams, Flow
    • Experience with SharePoint Online Administration (2+ years)
      • SharePoint security administration
      • Site collection and sub-site setup
      • Hands-on experience using SharePoint apps and features (lists, document libraries, metadata)
    • Strong analytic and problem-solving skills.
    • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (both written and oral).
    • Ability to communicate technical concepts to non-technical customers.
