  • Overview

    Facilitates projects and initiatives that improve the service performance and cost position of targeted business activities.  Contribute analytical skills, six sigma tools, lean processes and fresh ideas to projects and initiatives. Assist with the engagement of distribution center leaders as a champion of continuous improvement.


    Continuous Improvement

    1. Facilitate systematic problem solving, implementing solutions to solve root-cause problems.
    2. Coach, champion and sometimes lead improvement projects within a distribution center
    3. Assist with project leadership to include identifying opportunities, defining and financially justifying projects, resources, launching product teams
    4. Assist with dentifying integration issues with other projects/processes and coordinate the improvements with the appropriate project leader to accomplish project goals.
    5. Facilitate processes to identify and implement initiatives/projects that reduce costs and improve services to logistics customers.
    6. Provides feedback to the leadership team regarding opportunities in current SOPs and potential changes.
    7. Collects and monitors activities to assess trends and opportunities for each business unit (DC) and provide proactive recommendations.
    8. Identifies relevant technologies that can improve operations including, safety performance.
    9. Communicates with operations and corporate leadership on opportunities and progress.
    10. Assits with establishing the measuring and tracking process for each initiative and project and provides timely reports to all stakeholders.
    11. Assists with developing synergies across all operations especially with systemwide initiatives.
    12. Establishes and manages systems to support “right the first time” culture.
    13. Learn and use lean tools and principles including value stream maps, kaizen events and 5-s reviews. Lead and/or facilate continuous improvement kaizens at distribution centers. Prioritze kaizen and other tasks.



    Education and experience equivalent to:



    Bachelor’s Degree in Business Adminstration, food science, or related field from an accredited college or university.



    2-3or more years of  experience in Operations and/or relevant, proven, and effective experience in Lean Six Sigma or equivalent methodologies.
