    JOB SUMMARY:  Responsible for all shipping & receiving work processes and personnel to meet GSF objectives and achieve a high level of customer satisfaction.  This includes appearance & adherence to standards in receiving, storage, and shipping areas.




    1. Responsible for execution of all shipping work processes – loading in proper rotation (FEFO order), staging & inspecting based on customer requirements, efficient truck loading, etc.
    1. Responsible for execution of all receiving work processes – seal removal, weighing, labeling, material movement, raw material storage, etc.
    1. Provide overall daily leadership to the logistics department (shipping, receiving, storage areas, etc). This includes people management, coaching, development, conflict resolution, safety leadership, food safety leadership, achieving daily departmental metrics, work process execution, and ensuring adherence to standards. 
    1. Provide overall strategic leadership to the logistics department (shipping, receiving, storage areas, etc). This includes team development, systemic problem solving, masterplan development & execution, utilizing appropriate continuous improvement tools & methodologies, and ensuring ongoing customer (internal & external) satisfaction. 
    1. Responsible for inventory accuracy and systems to maintain it.
    1. Collaborate with shipping clerk & raw material planner to ensure seamless transition from planning to execution. Communicate with operational resources as issues / needs arise.
    1. Plan & coordinate vehicle / equipment maintenance & utilization
    1. Drive appearance and adherence to standards for the department owned areas.
    1. Performs other related and assigned duties as necessary.



    • Customer Service
    • Department metrics – Safety, Food Safety, Quality, Efficiency, On Time In Full (OTIF) shipments, etc
    • Culture / Organizational capability / Morale
    • Inventory Accuracy
    • Raw / Pack Material availability (Days of Supply – DOS)
    • Finished Goods rotation (FEFO)



    Provide both strategic & tactical leadership to ~25 shipping & receiving associates, shipping & receiving planning, managing inventory accuracy, area ownership


    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:  Education and experience equivalent to:



    A college degree from an accredited vocational, technical, or junior college, preferably with an engineering emphasis.



    3 to 6 years of relevant work experience in a manufacturing and/or logistics environment
