JOB SUMMARY:  Excellent growth opportunity for someone with strong regional human resources experience. If you have excellent communication skills, strong onboarding and change management experience, union experience, and have been a regional HR supervisor in Washington and Oregon, with 3-5 years experience, please read on! 


You will report to the Regional HR Manager in support of the Northwest facilities of Quality Custom Distribution (QCD) in Portland, Seattle, Spokane and Puyallup.  You will supervise/manage the day-to-day administration of human resources functions, record keeping, and special projects and ensure compliance with GSF, federal and state labor policies and procedures. There are approximately 300 associates in this region, including union and non-union hourly and exempt associates, working in a 24/7 distribution environment.

  1. Oversees the implementation, administration, and dissemination of information regarding all Human Resources functions including employment, training, management development, associate programs, workers’ compensation, and benefits for exempt and non-exempt associates, ensuring compliance with state, federal, and company policies, procedures, and regulations (e.g., FLSA, FMLA, EEO, ADA, Title VII). Escalate high level issues to Regional HR Manager as needed.  (20%)
  1. Oversees the recruitment, selection, placement, and orientation of exempt, non-exempt, and hourly associates to achieve required staffing levels and selection of the best qualified candidates. (40%)
  1. Provides guidance to managers and supervisors regarding implementation of human resources policies and procedures to ensure appropriate and fair human resources practices. Offer guidance on associate counseling issues and escalate prior to termination. (20%)
  1. Implements safety programs and practices to ensure compliance with GSF standards and regulatory agencies (e.g., OSHA, DOT, etc.) and to provide a safe and healthy environment for GSF associates. (5%)
  1. Administers performance management and appraisal programs to ensure program effectiveness. (5%)
  1. Investigates associate grievances and harassment or discrimination concerns by assessing the situation and making recommendations to Regional HR Manager to ensure a safe and productive work environment. (5%)
  1. Performs other related and assigned duties as necessary.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:  Education and experience equivalent to:




Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or related field from an accredited college or university



5 to 7 years of relevant work experience
