JOB SUMMARY:  Performs a variety of janitorial, maintenance and cleaning activities to meet established standards for the appearance, cleanliness, and safety of the distribution center and grounds.




  1. Performs a variety of janitorial duties and tasks to maintain distribution center buildings and grounds and to meet GSF and Silliker standards for appearance, cleanliness, and safety. (80%)


  1. Monitors and maintains forklift/pallet jack batteries to ensure readiness and smooth operations. (10%)


  1. Distributes office supplies to ensure smooth operations. (5%)


  1. Performs minor repairs to maintain working condition for racking, doors, and dock levelers. (5%)


  1. Performs other related and assigned duties as necessary.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Education and experience equivalent to:



            High school diploma or equivalency



            0 to 2 years of relevant work experience


Knowledge, Skills and Abilities


            Knowledge of (B/basic; J/journey; E/expert):

  • Silliker standards (including Good Manufacturing Practices) (B)
  • Battery changing and charging procedures (B)
  • Sanitation and janitorial concepts and techniques (B)


Skill and ability to:

  • Climb, crawl, squat, kneel, reach, or twist
  • Lift, push, pull or carry objects over 25 pounds
  • Follow verbal and written instructions
  • Identify problems or irregularities for early resolution
  • Work effectively in a general business environment, with a focus on high levels of quality and customer service
  • Communicate, read and write using the English language
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision
  • Forklift driving skills
  • Ability to pass forklift safety course and test
